Life after NYSC camp can feel strange. For three weeks, every day had a bell, parade, meal queue, platoon activity, or instruction. Then suddenly, camp ends and the bigger service year begins. Some corps members feel excited. Some feel confused. Some immediately start thinking about PPA, rent, transport, job plans, relocation, or how to survive financially. None of those feelings are unusual. The week after camp is a good time to slow down and plan. Save important contacts, understand your posting, ask questions before making big moves, and think about what you want the service year to do for you. If you want to learn a skill, start early. If you want to job hunt, organize your CV early. If you want to build a small business, test the idea with discipline. Camp is the opening chapter. The service year becomes more meaningful when you treat life after camp as a serious planning season.
